Bail reform and criminal justice reform have swept through New Jersey

Bail reform and criminal justice reform have swept through New Jersey. In 2017, there have been tremendous changes in the conducting of business within the criminal courts. On December 14, 2017, the Burlington County Bar Association, Criminal Practice Committee proudly presents a seminar concerning bail and criminal justice reform. The seminar is entitled: “Bail & Criminal Justice Reform (What We’ve Learned)” and will feature The Honorable Jeanne T. Covert, P.J.Cr., The Burlington County Prosecutor, Scott A. Coffina, Assistant Public Defender Kevin Walker, Assistant Division Manager for Pretrial Service, Michelle Consuegra, and Division Manager of the Municipal Division, Amy Chack. Michael C. Mormando, Esquire, of Attorneys Hartman, Chartered, whom is the Co-Chair to the Criminal Practice Committee, designed the seminar and will be moderating the event. He has also prepared a slide presentation to assist the learned panel in the discussions. This seminar is designed to be a refresher as to new procedures as well as a conversational piece discussing the pros, cons, areas that need improvement, and suggestions for the future. If you or your family members have been charged with a crime, or have had interaction with the police, don’t hesitate to contact Mike for advice and assistance.
